Each
year the sculpture students spend a large portion of the semester
studying the historical relevance of chair design throughout the ages.
After getting a full understanding of the purpose behind the designs,
they are put to the same challenge. Starting with the same template
each student formulates their own personal purpose of a chair and dives
into designing, fabricating, and painting their own.
Currently,
in the library these student chairs are on display for your enjoyment
and the ability to see their immense creativity.
