What's Happening at NHS Art: AP 3D

Featured Classroom:AP 3D Art
Advanced Placement 3D Art students are currently working on both their breadth and concentration pieces of their portfolio.  Check it out...

Leah Hanley is currently working on kinetic art (art that moves.)  This particular piece may seem like a plain box on the outside , however it is an explosion of color and abstract form on the inside.

Sally Roberts is creating an abstract wood piece that incorporates radial symmetry.

Jensen Myers is designing a Native American inspired piece carved from wood.  Jensen is experimenting with subtractive carving methods using a Dremel.

Paul Williams is working on an abstract fruit bowl that resembles a traditional still life painting.  He is using balloons to house wet plaster as a mold.  Paul recently completed a material culture piece featuring a myriad of objects in mason jars.

Ali Dressler is creating a sculpture made of found objects such as panty hose and wire.  Ali's breadth pieces are all about organic forms.

Emily Kado is sculpting a wooden sculpture made of small dow rods.  Emily's concentration is "implied line."

Ashley Dishman is making a luminary out of clay.  Ashley is planning on incorporating glass into the negative space to enhance the use of light and to add a unique quality to her work.

Meredith Watson is working with paper engineering.  She plans to design each piece of paper with an organic line design and then piece it together on a platform.  Meredith's concentration features how light travels through objects.

Hunter Bragg is making a horse fired hand.  Hunter is exploring the human form in her concentration.

Paiton Moon is carving a figure from clay.

Kylee Carr is working on a puppet made of wire.  She chose a puppet because she said the wire reminded her of string.  Kylee is currently experimenting with using multiples of mass produced objects such as toothpicks.
