What's Happening at NHS Art: AP Drawing

Starr Granados enjoys drawing and painting portraits.  Her concept is about natural beauty verses impression of beauty..

 Stella Runningen is working on the concept of solidarity verses unity in a group through the composition of figures in dance.
 Through the use of silhouette juxtaposed with mixed media, Molly Rector illustrates through her drawing "sitting on the edge of informaton."
 Kaley Knight illustrates the contrast between nature and technology in her piece.
 Through the use of a triptych,  Emily Archer build the suspense of one's anger and the aftermath thereof.
 By using two images, known as a diptych, Samantha Newcomb contrasts the feeling of excitement before a big game on the left verses the deflated feeling after a loss on the right.
Through the use of backgrounds, Nadjae Murphy's concept is the transformation  between confidence in youth and confusion with coming of age.
Mackenzie Fletcher is working with unusual surfaces.  By using playground equipment from Hinkle Creek Elementary where she attended as a child, Mackenzie references her childhood with a mixed media of pages from books she has read.

 By using a variety of background colors, the idea of strength through others verses weakness when alone is portrayed in Katie Post's work.
